About

I embroider, sew, draw, paint, write, photograph, make books and fold paper. In my works, I explore the peculiarities of existence in the chaos of the modern world.

Write to me at izziyanasuhaimi@gmail.com, I love getting mails. Lovely to meet you (:

Watching this video made me miss photography and wish I could incorporate it more into my work.Though I graduated last year with a fine art degree in Photography, I haven’t really touched a camera since then beyond using it for documentation purposes. Instead I’ve spent many many happy blissful days sewing. Perhaps one day when a project comes to mind and photography is exactly what it calls for. But till then! This process of wet plate collodion produces magical results. I feel that the images have more depth and soul. Photographers who use traditional techniques are indeed a rare bunch, but it makes them more spectacularly beautiful. One of my absolute favourites is Sally Mann. If you don’t know her, you can see some of her works here. They leave me breathless.
